International flight :

Siem Reap International airport is connected to the main Asian capitals and tourist spots.

From Europe, America, and Australia, national airlines provide round trip ticket to Siem Reap, via those capitals.

An inexpensive way is to buy a round trip ticket to Bangkok (numerous travel agency have special offers permanently). At Bangkok airport, there is no problem to find a flight to Siem Reap (4 to 5 flight a day, roughly 140 USD one way). Connections by bus exist from BKK to Siem Reap, The journey is cheap (4 to 6 USD), but tiring (10 to 12 hours).

Vietnam Airline, Singapore Airline, seam to be the cheapest for a flight till Siem Reap.

Other possibilities : From Vietnam, buses from Ho Chi Minh, via Phnom Penh, or a combination of bus (till Chao Doc) and boat via Phnom Penh.

By road
To Phnom Penh (340 km) via Kompong Thom and Skun it takes 5 to 6 hours on a good road.
You will have choice between acceptable buses (5USD) and minibus ran by private companies, crowded pickup truck (eco class !), and A/C cars you can chartered (50USD/car).

To the Thai border, it will take around 4 hours (or much more during rainy season) on a road always being improved. You can choose minibus ran by private companies (around 10USD/pax), crowded pickup truck (eco class!), and A/C cars you can charter (50USD/car).

Moving in town

All over the place, you’ll find numerous moto-dop (moped taxi), moto-trailer, and A/C cars.

Downtown, a journey varies from 1000 to 2000 riels ( 4000 Riels = 1 USD)
>From the airport, from the pier or from the bus stand to the hotel the rate is around 2 USD for moto-dop, 3 USD by moto-trailer and 5 USD for A/C car taxi (free for you, if you’ve booked 3 nights or more )

A full day moped rental with driver costs around 8 USD. In Siem Reap province you are not allowed to rent moped and drive by yourself.
